Energy and Rehab

The Energy & Rehab Department has a variety of programs that serve low-income households within Cass, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Steele and Traill Counties.

Our Programs

  • Cooling Assistance - Provides a cooled living space for someone in the household with a medical need.
  • Emergency Furnace and Water Heater Replacement - Repair or replacement of a furnace or water heater if cost-effective repairs are not enough.
  • Helping Hand - Addresses unmet housing needs for low-income families.
  • HOME Rehab - Bring homes of low-income families up to Section 8 standards, local building codes, and zoning restrictions.
  • Residential Energy Education Program (REEP) - Reduce energy costs by improving the energy efficiency of homes while ensuring health and safety. (Funded by Xcel Energy)
  • Weatherization - Increase energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness of households.
